there is a time for gloating

But that time is not now. There is a time to revisit old ghosts, a time to look ahead, a time to take stock and a time to celebrate.

For now: the San Siro. Cold, ferocious rain, howling walls of humanity, a cauldron built to order from the Inferno. What a fitting result for such a stadium.

And Milan and Liverpool are going to Athens.

:D :D I was so happy with the result!
And I really want them to win on the 23rd....I remember 2005 and not believin that Milan could loose after a 3 - 0 lead....
And Pirlo - he needs to score!!

can't say i was happy with that result. but then milan deserved to win. but their win will pretty much be a slap in the face for UEFA after the scandal from the year before. But Gattuso was right, i remember him quoting that there was so much scandal after the WC, people had forgotten that Italy had won. hoping for a repeat of that glorious 2005 final though.

Kausha: Not entirely sure about that one. UEFA were the ones who held a trial that acquitted Milan on the basis of lack of evidence and allowed them to compete in the prelims. Calciopoli's unearthing new evidence daily, at any rate, and for a team that's gone from being condemned to Serie B to one that has a chance at being awarded the 2005 scudetto in light of evidence that they were victimized, Milan's come a long way.

Even if it wasn't the case, any organisation that ignores crowd violence and dodgy circumvention of the rules (hi, Javier Mascherano) to crack down on player celebratiosn deserves to have one pulled on it.

@ anshul: Uhuh. Gerrard, Alonso, Masche. Should be good. WHO WILL GET POSSESSION? Haha. Dida has big game temperament, which = good for Milan. Too bad it doesn't do anything to stop him from sucking stunningly at odd times in the match, anyway. :)

@ szerelem: Pirlo. Free kick. Back of the net. It's coming, baby, it's coming.

yes...the thought of 2005 turns me cold...it was my dad you know, seriously...i mean i was drifting off to sleep with Milan in a 3-0 lead (AND Maldini scored on the 58th second)when he came to take a look and bam, bam , bam...you know what i mean? he didn't even leave the room during the penalty shoot out...or we would have won
